When I saw news about this, being a fan of the work of Wallace Wood, I placed an order. Cons de Fee is a good collection of Wood's adult art, with erotic satires of Alice in Wonderland, The Wizard of Oz, Cinderella, Lil' Abner, Prince Valiant, Flash Gordon and his own Sally Forth (I am hoping that a collection of the early Sally Forth work will be published before long). Wood's art is great although the later work shows the physical deterioration he was suffering near the end of his life. His 1981 suicide is understandable when you consider that for him, drawing was life and when he could no longer do that, what was the point? The magic pencil was used up (Wood fans will get that reference). The stories themselves are a mixed bag, some quite good, others, about the usual low quality of the bulk of adult comics. Wallace Wood fans (age 18 and above, of course) should enjoy this book. This book is an excellent summary of the unique erotic art that was produced by Wallace Wood over his troubled but often fascinating career. Much of the book contains black and white art which was a common comic art form at the time. However, there are some entertaining colored illustrations as well.Attached are some pictures that may be of interest. The first shows two comic illustrations of Wood, always smoking. The second is a colored picture of Wood's infamous Disney Orgy which is presented as a black and white fold-out in his book. I colorized the attached image myself in homage to Wood, so the colored version is unique and is currently unavailable anywhere but on this Amazon page. The last two pictures are from two of Wood's science fiction comic covers produced in the 1950s. He was truly a master of science fiction art.
