I like the fact that this is a clean read, but I have a few issues with the first book in the series.Several references are made to people cursing, although no words are actually spelled out for us.Virginia's sister doesn't approve of the erstwhile boyfriend bringing beer to their place, because they don't drink (?) but later the sisters are drinking wine.There are several typos, punctuation issues, and the use of "right" instead of "rite" (of passage), and saying his eyes "broadened" when it's usually written as "widened."And Thousand Oaks is in *southern* California, not northern.Having read the sample chapter led me to purchase the series, but the boyfriend's behavior and Virginia's response just made me disgusted, so I think I'll pass on reading the rest, which appears to be a lot of pages to the predictable happy ending. This series is inspiring! It begins with Virginia living a life she deems "Good enough", but when she realizes that isn't really what she had hoped it to be and she takes steps to expand, a wonderful story really begins. She ends a relationship that always requires she put her hopes and dreams on hold while she does everything she can to keep her boyfriend happy. She moves away and providentially meets a man, Tristan, who really sees her and who is excited to grow along with her. They find that one of Virginia's many talents is a perfect fit for Tristan's contracting business. Together, their ideas create something greater than either could achieve alone as they flip historical wrecks and give them new life. Their friends and family are inspired by their amazing relationship to seek their own chance to find relationships and jobs as fulfilling as that of Virginia and Tristan. Much credit is given to being honest with oneself and with others to find the right place in one's life, to achieve the fit we all seek. Don't mistake the message as a course in fulfillment though; it's a most enjoyable story filled with both likeable and less likeable, but always believable people.
